Meet the instructors

Alex Diaz

Alex is a first generation Cuban-American, or as he might put it ‘made in America with Cuban parts.Latin music and culture was an ever-present part of his childhood. He started learning salsa in New Jersey, while in college ... and furthered his salsa education in New York.

Alex’s dancing is an eclectic mix of Rumba, Casino, Mambo, Boogaloo and Pachanga, while focusing on creating synergy with his partners. He is a student of Latin music and is often seen singing along as he dances.

Alex is the founder of Furor Entertainment. He counts on his 20 years of dance and teaching experience to deliver well-structured and informative classes and workshops. He has performed and taught across the US, Asia and Europe. Through Furor, Alex continues to raise the bar for Latin dance in India.

Kalpana Balakrishnan

Kalpana started training in Salsa in Furor Hyderabad. She moved to Bangalore soon after and trained intensively under Alex Diaz. She has travelled to New York and San Francisco and has learnt from Eddie Torres, Rica Salsa and ... Frankie Martinez.

Kalpana is a renowned social dancer and performer. Her dancing is high in energy and highly creative in interpretation of music while maintaining a joyful connection with her partner. She continues to learn and push her boundaries as a dancer.

She is a certified salsa instructor and her classes are filled with laughter and fun. She is detailed and patient with her students while constantly encouraging them to do better.

Pradeep Nagaraj

Pradeep hails from the suburbs of the village called Udupi. It was in 2006 that he first took his lessons on Rueda de Casino with Cyrille Ngalle from France and holds Cyrille, his first coach, in high regard. ...
Pradeep has trained extensively under Alex Diaz and has taken workshops from some of the best instructors in the world.

Pradeep was instrumental in the initial years of Furor in the field of Marketing and Business Affairs and was instrumental in the growth of the company.

His vision is to make Salsa accessible to all those who love dancing but have yet to experience the Latin dance forms.

Rishikesh Chhabra

Rish is first and foremost, a Salsa promoter. He has more than a decade of experience in teaching Salsa, Bachata and more recently, West-coast Swing.

Rish started training in ... ballroom dancing, while in college and was introduced to the Waltz, Tango and Foxtrot. He then studied Rueda de Casino and Cuban style salsa and was smitten. He sought out and trained under Alex Diaz extensively as a dancer and instructor.

After relocating to Hyderabad, Rish took upon the responsibility of promoting Furor in Hyderabad, laying the groundwork for its formal entry here by introducing salsa socials and structured classes. Furor Hyderabad is responsible for a vibrant salsa community in Hyderabad and continues to provide high quality salsa training to anyone who wishes to learn.
